Born from a star and now for you on Earth :

In 1893, Dr. Moissan was examining samples from a crater site in Arizona (USA). He found minute particles of new mineral (silicon carbide). This magnificient discovery was just the beginning of what would become an exciting category in jewelry : Moissanite created by Charles and Colvard. In fact, science combined this mineral and today's technology and moissanite was born.

Moissanite is very special because it as many characteristics that you see in diamonds but not the price. Moissanite as brilliance, fire, luster and durability unlike any jewel.

Moissanite as now became the "new best friend" of the modern, self-confident women all over the world.

"Moissanite now a dream come true for every women of the world"

Jewel comparaison :

Brilliance : Moissanite created by Charles and Colvard leads all other jewels with a refractive index of 2.65 to 2.69.

Fire : Moissanite created by Charles and Colvard produces over 2.3 times more dispersion (fire) than diamond.

Luster : Moissanite created by Charles and Colvard reflects more light back to the viewer than diamond.

Durability : Moissanite created by Charles and Colvard ranks 9.25on the Mohs hardness scale, wich is harder than sapphire (9.0). Only diamond is harder (10).

Rarity : The propietary process used to combine the naturel minerals of silicon and carbon is time consuming and expensive, wich limits the amount of Moissanite created by Charles and Colvard available.

Distinguishing characteristics of Charles and Colvard created moissanite.

Near colorless creates moissanite has very similar physical properties to those of diamonds. MOISSANITE DO TESTS POSITIVE FOR DIAMOND ON CONVENTIONAL THERMAL PROBES.

A moissanite tester distinguishes between diamond created moissanite by testing for the absoption or ultraviolet light only after using a standard diamond probe. Diamond will transmit the uv light while moissanite will absorb at these wavelengths. This moissanite tester should be used only after one uses a standard thermal probe to identify that gemstone tests as a diamond.
